Toy Rentals? Humm.........
June 16, 2011 So lately we've been tossing around the idea of a possible toy rental business. I came across the idea a couple of weeks back and thought...hum.....now that might really work. The concept works like this: families essentially join a monthly membership similar to say, Netflix. We would provide several package options based on the amount of toys. The basic package option would consist of 6 toys that could be drop shipped or picked up here in the store and 'rented' for a period of two months and then sent back for a new assortment of six toys for the next two months, and so on. Kids would get new toys every other month, parents would get rid of the never ending 'cluter'. Doing a little math, the annual membership cost would be less than half the price of buying the same toys new. If your kids absolutely fall in love with a toy in the assortment you could always purchase the toy direct. Toys shipped direct would be sanitized and packaged and a box/return label provided for return. I see alot of pros to this idea, especially in this economy....my only concern would be during the holidays. In this business every other month is Christmas, right? Tula Ru Toy Rentals.... has a bit of 'ring' to it...we'll see :) |
